ASRG Research Featured in FE Week: The Professionalisation of Cheating

In a new opinion piece for FE Week, Professionalisation of cheating should alarm awarding bodies, ASRG’s Head of Research, Niamh Pierce, explores the growing threat posed by organised impersonation services.

Impersonation fraud is no longer confined to small local networks. Sophisticated online impersonation providers are openly advertising professional proxy candidates, identity fraud services and grade guarantees to clients around the world.

The article highlights key findings from ASRG’s latest whitepaper, ‘Candidates for Hire: A Case Study of Impersonation Services in Assessment’, which presents a case study of a global online assessment impersonation service provider and examines how these operations are becoming increasingly professionalised and accessible. In the whitepaper, we examine how these services present themselves, how they operate, and what their growth means for the future of assessment integrity.

We are grateful to FE Week for publishing this piece and for helping to bring wider attention to our research, as well as the risks these services pose to the integrity of assessments, qualifications and certifications.

We invite you to read the article here and share your thoughts with us.
